As befits a lawyer, we will answer: “it depends.” From an accounting perspective, handling different industries – medical, aviation, legal – doesn’t differ drastically. But it matters in consulting, for example, in the context of tax reliefs like IP Box. And it’s these details we strive to catch – and advise when needed.
Why was SettleWise created?
SettleWise was born from two things: a love for a job well done and a passion for technology.
Accounting, though essential, is from an entrepreneur’s perspective a redundant activity – that’s why we believe it should take as little time as possible. 15 minutes a month? Great. A few hours a year? Better to reclaim them.
Our goal is to show that modern accounting can be practically invisible. Because that’s when it works best.
Who are we?
Beata is our accountant – meticulous, precise, and uncompromising in catching errors. Too modest to talk about herself – but fortunately, we are not alone in this project.
The other person behind SettleWise is Piotr – a lawyer and entrepreneur who brought technological vision, strategic thinking, and immense determination to our team.
Piotr is someone who has traveled an exceptional path – and perhaps that’s why he believes so strongly in what we do:
“I won’t pretend that everything was part of a plan. At the age of 33, I had a brainstem stroke – the so-called locked-in syndrome. For many months I could only move my eyes. But I didn’t give up. I ended up in one of the best neurological centers in Poland, where I underwent rehabilitation that amazed even the specialists – I was the first patient to get rid of the tracheostomy tube so quickly.
During recovery, between one series of exercises and another, I came up with the idea of creating SettleWise. Because I saw how much time we waste on things that can be automated. Today I combine legal, technological, and business experiences – and focus on what I like most: solving problems and connecting the dots.”
This combination – Beata’s precision and Piotr’s vision – makes SettleWise not only operate efficiently but also with sensitivity and a human approach. Because modern accounting is not just numbers – it’s also understanding the context in which our clients operate.
